At low corruption, this usually works. Dennis turns vague intentions into steps, gives stalled projects movement, and finds practical solutions before discussion becomes endless. He does not need perfection. He needs the next version to function better than the last.

The problem begins when better becomes mandatory. As corruption rises, he starts measuring what was never meant to be measured. Simple routines acquire dashboards. Minor inconveniences become process failures. He may redesign a working system because it contains an inefficiency visible only to him.

The patch often works better after Dennis touches it. Eventually, everything works except the reason it was built.

He does not seek control for its own sake. He fears wasted motion, unfinished effort, and the possibility that disorder means no one is paying attention. Corruption converts that fear into endless revision. Dennis keeps improving the machinery while the original purpose grows faint beneath layers of optimization, each one perfectly documented.
